Delta 4 first launch cose-up image (Boeing) Stormy weather postponed Thursday's scheduled launch of a Delta 4 booster carrying a military satellite. The Delta 4 Medium was scheduled to lift off Thursday evening to place the Defense Satellite Communications System (DSCS) 3B-6 military communications satellite into orbit. However, the threat of stormy weather forced launch controllers to scrub the launch attempt. The launch has been rescheduled for Friday during a 78-minute launch window that opens at 7:13 pm EDT (2313 GMT). The launch would be the third for the Delta 4; the DSCS satellite it carries is the last in its series.
