STS-123: logo (NASA) NASA shuttle managers formally approved Friday plans to launch the space shuttle Endeavour on a mission to the International Space Station next month. Endeavour is scheduled to lift off on mission STS-123 at 2:28 am EDT (0628 GMT) March 11, a date approved by shuttle managers after a two-day flight readiness review that wrapped up ahead of schedule Friday. The shuttle will install on the station the first part of Japan's Kibo lab module, as well as the Canadian robotic arm system Dextre. Five spacewalks are planned during the 16-day mission to install the new station elements.
