STS-124: EVA #3 (NASA) Two astronauts carried out the third and final spacewalk of the STS-124 shuttle mission on Sunday, completing a variety of tasks outside the International Space Station. Mike Fossum and Ron Garan spent six hours and 33 minutes outside the station on an EVA that ended at 4:28 pm EDT (2028 GMT) Sunday. The two successfully carried out all the planned tasks for the EVA, including swapping out nitrogen tanks used for the station's cooling system and completing the outfitting of the exterior of the new Kibo lab module. The crew of Discovery will wrap up their work on the ISS over the next two days before departing from the station on Wednesday.
