STS-126: logo (NASA) Bad weather has forced mission managers to cancel two landing attempts scheduled for Sunday at the Kennedy Space Center in Florida, and have decided on a Saturday afternoon landing in California. High crosswinds, low clouds, and the threat of thunderstorms causes NASA to wave off two landing opportunities for the shuttle at KSC on Sunday afternoon. Managers later chose to bring the shuttle in for a landing at Edwards Air Force Base in California at 4:25 pm EST (2125 GMT) rather than keep the shuttle in orbit an additional day and try for a KSC landing on Monday, when the weather may be more favorable. Weather in California is excellent and not expected to be an issue for landing.
