Atlas 5 before launch of Intelsat 14 (ULA) The launch of a commercial communications satellite on an Atlas 5 late Friday night was postponed because of a technical glitch. The Atlas 5 was slated to lift off from Cape Canaveral at 12:48 am (0548 GMT) Saturday, but the launch attempt was scrubbed less than an hour before liftoff because of a problem with an electronics unit on the vehicle. Repairing the unit will require rolling the rocket back to its vertical assembly building. United Launch Alliance has set no new date for the launch, but the delay will not affect Monday's scheduled launch of the space shuttle Atlantis. The Atlas 5 is carrying the Intelsat 14 communications satellite for Intelsat.
