Weather delays Delta 4 launch
Posted: Wed, Dec 2, 2009, 5:39 AM ET (1039 GMT)
The launch of a military communications satellite on a Delta 4 has been postponed 24 hours because of forecasted poor weather. The Delta 4 Medium-Plus (5,4) has been scheduled to launch Wednesday evening from Cape Canaveral to place the Wideband Global SATCOM 3 satellite into orbit. However, "extremely stormy" weather forecast for launch time led United Launch Alliance to postpone the launch for 24 hours. The launch has been rescheduled for Thursday at 7:22 pm EST (0022 GMT Friday).
