Glory launch rescheduled
Posted: Wed, Mar 2, 2011, 6:41 AM ET (1141 GMT)
Glory illustration (NASA) NASA announced Tuesday that the launch of its Glory climate satellite has been rescheduled for this Friday. Glory is now planned for launch on a Taurus XL rocket from Vandenberg Air Force Base in California at 5:09 am EST (1009 GMT). A launch attempt last week was scrubbed because of a technical problem with ground support equipment that NASA now says has been resolved. The Glory spacecraft will track aerosols in the atmosphere as well as solar irradiance to understand how they influence the Earth's climate.
