Marshall director to leave NASA for industry
Posted: Wed, Jul 11, 2012, 5:49 AM ET (0949 GMT)
The head of NASA's Marshall Space Flight Center (MSFC) will leave the center to take a position with Aerojet, the agency announced this week. Arthur E. "Gene" Goldman will retire from NASA on August 3, and join Aerojet as its new head of Southeast Space Operations three days later. Goldman had been in charge of MSFC only since March, taking over after the previous director, Robert Lightfoot, was reassigned to NASA headquarters as associate administrator. Goldman was previously the deputy director of MSFC, and also served as director of the Stennis Space Center in Mississippi from 2008 to 2010. In his new position, he will help Aerojet find new business and partnership opportunities in the region.
