Endeavour and 747 land at LAX (NASA) The space shuttle Endeavour completed its cross-country journey on Friday, landing in Los Angeles after making a tour of California. Endeavour and its 747 aircraft took off Friday from Edwards Air Force Base in California and flew north, passing over the state capital in Sacramento and various landmarks in the San Francisco Bay area. It then flew south and made passes across Southern California before finally landing at Los Angeles International Airport. Endeavour will be towed next month from airport across the city to its new home at the California Science Center. The ferry flight was the last of the shuttle program.
