Original story posted Feb. 4:

"Star Wars" star Harrison Ford will fly into the Space Coast this week to watch the SpaceX Falcon Heavy launch.

The 75-year-old actor best known as Han Solo in the "Star Wars" film series was the pilot of the Millennium Falcon. In a nod to "Star Wars," SpaceX CEO Elon Musk has said the Falcon rockets are named after the iconic ship.

As of Sunday, the weather looks promising for the inaugural flight of SpaceX's highly anticipated Falcon Heavy rocket from Kennedy Space Center.

Forecasters expect an 80 percent chance of favorable conditions during a window that runs from 1:30 to 4 p.m. Tuesday at pad 39A, acccording to the Air Force.

The 230-foot-tall, three-core rocket will carry CEO Elon Musk's personal 2008 Tesla Roadster, an all-electric sports car, to be hurtled into deep space to test the rocket's capabilities.

According to some chatter on Reddit last week, this is not the first time Ford has flown into the Space Coast for a SpaceX launch. The social media chatter suggests that the megastar landed here on his own plane Jan. 30. The SpaceX Falcon 9, however, was delayed and launched Jan. 31 instead. It is not known whether Ford was here for that.

More celebrities on the Space Coast

Ford won't be the only megacelebrity at the event. Buzz Aldrin will be there, too.

Also on the Space Coast this week, Academy Award nominee Ryan Gosling will be in town to film "First Man," a biographical historical period drama about Neil Armstrong. Gosling and Ford co-starred in "Blade Runner 2049." Gosling will film scenes for "First Man" at KSC. Actors Kyle Chandler and Clair Foy co-star in the film, and Corey Stoll plays Buzz Aldrin.

It is not known whether Gosling will be at the Falcon Heavy launch, but news reports suggest Ford and Gosling have quite the bromance, so maybe?

At the 2017 San Diego Comic-Con, Ford praised his "Blade Runner 2049" co-star, calling Gosling "smart and clever."

"I was delighted. I had a chance to work with 'the kid. What's his name?'" Ford joked in an interview with AP. "He's a very smart, clever guy. He's a wonderful person to work with. I had a great time working with him."

Details about the Falcon Heavy launch

The Falcon Heavy rocket is set to launch from KSC, with the window from 1:30 to 4 p.m. Tuesday at pad 39A. Falcon Heavy will become the most powerful rocket in the world when it launches with 5.1 million pounds of thrust generated by 27 Merlin engines.

The rocket's two side cores will return to touch down at Cape Canaveral Air Force Station's Landing Zone 1, while the center core will land on the Of Course I Still Love You drone ship stationed off the coast of Florida in the Atlantic Ocean. Those in the area can expect to hear multiple sonic booms to indicate their return.
