NASA has once again been named the best place to work in the federal government.
The U.S. space agency has earned the distinction for seven straight years, according to a Partnership for Public Service survey of almost 600,000 federal workers. The rankings are based on employee engagement – defined as worker satisfaction and commitment of the workforce and willingness of employees to put forth discretionary effort to achieve results.
The rankings are divided among large, medium and small federal agencies.
NASA’s employee engagement score rose from 80.9 to 81.2. The Health and Human Services Department came in second, up 0.5 points to 70.9 this year. The Commerce Department was third, up from 69.2 to 2017 to 70.3 this year.
Marshall Space Flight Center, located in Alabama, was ranked as the 18th best place to work among all federal agency subcomponents.
Among large agencies, the top 10 were:

3. Department of Commerce
4. Department of Transportation
5. Intelligence Community
6. Department of Veterans Affairs
7. Department of the Navy
8. Office of the Secretary of Defense, Joint Staff, Defense Agencies and Department of Defense Field Activities
9. Department of the Interior
10. Department of Justice
The Army ranked 11th; the Air Force 15th.
