City celebrates success of ISRO feat

Soon after witnessing the success of India Space Research Organisation’s PSLV-C37 that launched a record 104 satellites into the orbit, students at SRR & CVR Govt. College erupted in joy. They gathered at the statue of the former President A.P.J. Abdul Kalam outside the college gate and celebrated the success of ISRO that made the nation proud.

Waving the national flag and releasing sky lanterns, students raised slogans praising ISRO and its team that made the flight possible. They also exchanged sweets and burst crackers.

Like students of SRR & CVR College, many others across the city celebrated the success of ISRO. Students and faculty of Siddhartha Mahila Kalasala also assembled on the college premises and congratulated the scientists of ISRO.

Members of the State’s BJP Minority Morcha took out a rally shouting slogans in praise of the nation and ISRO as soon as the successful launch was announced. They congratulated the ISRO scientists who were part of the mission and lauded their contribution.

Awareness programme

Marking the success of ISRO, Prakash Synergy School, Peddapuram organised an awareness programme in which more than 700 students of the school participated.

The programme was enlivened by the speeches of Deepika Davuluri, Indian Space Ambassador, and Sundaramurthy, Ex-ISRO scientist and Mission Director for Indian Communication and Meteorological Satellite System, India.

Students interacted with cosmonaut of the Russian Federation, Sergei Vasilyevich Avdeyev via Skype. Dr. Sergie called upon students to take up science seriously and pay attention to sports and medicine.

The students also interacted with Shaun Moss, founder, International Mars Research Station; Ralf Heckel, Chairman and Founder, International Space Educational Institute, Russia; Saurav Ghoshal, space scientist; Jayakumar Venkatesan, founder, Valles Marineris International Pvt. Ltd, Nagpur; A. M. Varaprasad, Scientist, DRDO; and others.
