Delta 4 Heavy on launch pad (Boeing) For the second straight day Sunday the launch of the first Delta 4 Heavy was scrubbed because of a technical glitch, pushing the launch back until next week. The launch was postponed Sunday morning when technicians reported that an environmental control system suffered an outage after Saturday's launch attempt was scrubbed. Because crews could not determine the root cause of the failure, Boeing elected to scrub the launch to give engineers more time to understand the problem. Become of range conflicts, including the launch of an Atlas 5 on a commercial mission, the Delta 4 launch has been rescheduled for around December 20 or 21, assuming the Atlas 5 lifts off on schedule Friday.
