Posted: Wed, Feb 23, 2005, 7:29 AM ET (1229 GMT)
Zenit 3SL launch of Estrela do Sul (Boeing) The launch of a Sea Launch Zenit 3SL booster, delayed several days because of weather, was postponed again Tuesday night because of a technical problem. The countdown for the launch of the Zenit 3SL was halted about seven minutes before liftoff because of an "out-of-specification condition" on the launch vehicle. No further details about the problem were released, and Sea Launch said the launch would be postponed until no sooner than Friday. The launch, scheduled for last week, was delayed several days because of high winds and unfavorable sea conditions at the mobile launch site on the Equator in the Pacific Ocean. The booster is carrying the XM-3 radio broadcasting satellite for XM Satellite Radio.
