Posted: Thu, Sep 15, 2005, 7:05 AM ET (1105 GMT)
The manager of NASA's shuttle program has taken back his old job of running one of NASA's field centers, the agency announced this week. NASA named Bill Parsons as the new director of the Stennis Space Center in Mississippi, effective immediately. Parsons was Stennis director for about a year in 2002 and 2003 before being named shuttle program manager. Parsons replaces Thomas Donaldson, who is on a special assignment to FEMA for hurricane relief efforts in Mississippi. Wayne Hale, deputy shuttle program manager, was named acting shuttle manager.
