EADS acquires Dutch Space
Posted: Fri, Dec 2, 2005, 5:13 AM ET (1013 GMT)
European aerospace giant EADS announced Thursday that it was buying a Dutch aerospace company. EADS will acquire Dutch Space and integrate the company into its EADS Space Transportation division. Terms of the sale were not disclosed. Dutch Space, formerly part of the Fokker group, became an independent company in 1995 focusing on several areas, including robotics, instrumentation, solar arrays, and launch vehicle components. The company has been involved in the Ariane and Vega rocket programs, and has also been part of the industry team developing the CX-OLEV space tug for Orbital Recovery Corporation.
