Progress launched to ISS

Soyuz launch (Energia file photo) A Soyuz rocket launched a Progress cargo spacecraft Monday on a mission to the International Space Station. The Soyuz rocket carrying the Progress M-56 spacecraft lifted off from Baikonur at 12:03 pm EDT (1603 GMT) Monday, placing the cargo spacecraft into low Earth orbit about ten minutes later. The spacecraft (called Progress 21 by NASA) is scheduled to dock with the ISS at 1:40 pm EDT (1740 GMT) Wednesday. The spacecraft is carrying 2.5 tons of supplies, including food, water, propellant, and other supplies for the two-man Expedition 13 crew.
