STS-115: logo NASA has reset the launch of the space shuttle Atlantis for September 6, with the launch window extended a day after Russia agreed to delay a Soyuz launch. Shuttle managers rescheduled the launch for 12:29 pm EDT (1629 GMT) on September 6 after technicians found no sign of damage to the shuttle or the launch site after the passage of Tropical Storm Ernesto on Wednesday. The original launch window for the STS-115 mission closed on September 7, but NASA was able to extend the window through the 8th after Russia agreed to delay the launch of Soyuz taxi mission to the station to September 18. The official launch countdown for the shuttle mission will begin on Sunday at 8 am EDT (1200 GMT).
