Ariane launch delayed again
Posted: Tue, Nov 13, 2007, 7:00 AM ET (1200 GMT)
The launch of two communications satellites on an Ariane 5 was delayed again on Monday. The launch, scheduled for Monday evening, was postponed because of an unspecified anomaly detected during preparations to fuel the launch vehicle; later reports indicated the problem was with plumbing at the launch pad. No new launch date has been announced. The launch had previously been scheduled for Friday but was postponed to replace an electronics unit on the vehicle. The Ariane is carrying two satellites: Skynet 5B is the second in a new series of communications satellite for the UK military, while Star One C1 is a communications satellite for Brazilian operator Star One.
