Von Braun team member Stuhlinger dies

Ernst Stuhlinger, one of the last surviving members of Wernher von Braun's rocket team who came to America after World War 2 dies over the weekend at the age of 94. Stuhlinger, who joined von Braun's team in 1943, was part of the group of rocket scientists who were brought to America after the war to work on rocket projects for the US. Stuhlinger later joined NASA and became associate director of the Marshall Space Flight Center before retiring in the mid-1970s. During his time at NASA Stuhlinger was a pioneer in ion propulsion technology.
