Shuttle ready for return

STS-124: logo (NASA) The crew of the space shuttle Discovery has completed inspections the orbiter and is on track to return to Earth on Saturday morning. Discovery is scheduled to land at the Kennedy Space Center in Florida at 11:15 am EDT (1515 GMT) Saturday, weather permitting. After undocking from the ISS on Wednesday the STS-124 crew performed additional inspections of the orbiter's exterior; shuttle officials said Thursday that the inspections had cleared the orbiter for reentry. The shuttle crew will spend Friday making final preparations for landing.
