Elon Musk is using his new rocket to fire his most famous creation, an original Tesla Roadster, on an indefinite voyage into space.

The Falcon Heavy rocket is preparing for its debut launch next month. “Test flights usually contain mass simulators in the form of concrete or steel blocks,” Mr Musk said. “That seemed extremely boring . . . so we decided to send something unusual.”
