Cable tag floats away from ISS
Posted: Sun, Jun 15, 2003, 1:58 PM ET (1758 GMT)
ISS illustration (NASA) A small object seen floating away from the International Space Station last week is most likely a tag from an external cable, NASA officials believe. ISS astronaut Ed Lu noticed the small object outside the station early Thursday and photographed it as it floated away from the station. Engineers uplinked to the station photos of items the object could be; after reviewing them, Lu believes the object was a tag from an external data or power cable. The lost tag is not considered a safety hazard to the station, although engineers are unsure how the tag got loose.
