ISS illustration (NASA) Leaders of the space agencies involved in the International Space Station program pledged to continue their support for the project as NASA works out details for the shuttle's return to flight. The space agency heads, meeting this week in Monterey, California, agreed to update a 2002 plan for completing the assembly of the station once NASA can provide additional details regarding when the shuttle will again be available for space station assembly flights. Another meeting of the partner nations is planned for mid-October in Moscow, at which time the agencies plan to discuss specific changes to the assembly schedule. Tuesday's meeting took place on a milestone for the station, its 1,000th day of human habitation.
