Progress reenters after free-flying mission

Progress spacecraft on approach to ISS (NASA) A Progress spacecraft that undocked from the International Space Station last month reentered on Friday after completing an extended free-flyer mission. Progress M1-10 renetered over the Pacific Friday at 8:12 am EDT (1212 GMT), burning up in the atmosphere as planned. The spacecraft undocked from the station on September 4. Normally such spacecraft reenter within hours of undocking, but in this case the spacecraft remained in orbit for almost a month to conduct a remote sensing mission for Russian scientists.
