Posted: Fri, Mar 30, 2007, 8:15 AM ET (1215 GMT)
Soyuz TMA-9 during docking port move (NASA) The crew of the International Space Station boarded a Soyuz spacecraft late Thursday and moved the spacecraft from one docking port to another. The two Americans and one Russian boarded the Soyuz TMA-9 spacecraft and took a 24-minute trip from the docking port on the Zarya module to the port on the Zvezda module. The maneuver frees up the Zarya port for the next Soyuz mission to the station, scheduled for launch on April 7, while allowing a Progress mission scheduled for launch in May to dock at the preferred Zvezda docking port after Soyuz TMA-9 departs the station next month.
