Posted: Tue, Aug 5, 2008, 9:07 AM ET (1307 GMT)
NASA's Johnson Space Center will remain closed through Tuesday as a tropical storm bears down on the Texas coast near Houston. Tropical Storm Edouard is expected to make landfall today near Galveston, tracking to the northwest, and is not forecast to strength to a hurricane. As a precaution, NASA JSC closed at midday Monday and will remain closed Tuesday; the center is planned to reopen on Wednesday. Mission control for the International Space Station, located at JSC, will remain open during the storm.
