Ariane launch delayed
Posted: Sat, Mar 27, 2010, 8:54 AM ET (1254 GMT)
Ariane 5 v194 on pad before launch (Arianespace) Arianespace scrubbed Friday's scheduled launch of two communications satellites because of a problem with the Ariane 5 launch vehicle. The rocket was scheduled to launch Friday evening and place the Astray 3B and COMSATBw-2 spacecraft in orbit, but the launch was postponed Friday morning because of an unspecified anomaly in a "launcher subsystem". Ariane said in a statement that the launch would be postponed for several days in order to roll the vehicle back to its assembly building and replace the offending part. The launch will be the first Ariane 5 mission of 2010.
