Ariane 5 ECA prior to Hispasat/Koreasat launch (Arianespace) High upper level winds forced Arianespace to postpone Tuesday's scheduled launch of two communications satellites by 24 hours. The Ariane 5 ECA was scheduled to launch at 4:26 pm EST (2126 GMT) and place the Hispasat 1E and Koreasat 6 satellites into geosynchronous transfer orbit. However, the launch was postponed because of strong upper level winds above the spaceport at Kourou, French Guiana. The launch has been rescheduled for Wednesday at 4:27 pm EST (2127 GMT).
