NASA announced Friday that it has scheduled the launch of Atlantis on the final mission of the shuttle program for July 8. Atlantis will launch on mission STS-135 at about 11:40 am EDT (1540 GMT) on July 8, according to plans announced by the agency. Atlantis rolled over to the Vehicle Assembly Building on Tuesday and is scheduled to roll out to the pad on the evening of May 31. The mission, added by NASA at the request of Congress last year, will feature a four-person crew carrying key supplies to the ISS.
