ATV docks with ISS

ATV-3 docking with ISS (NASA) A European cargo spacecraft successfully docked with the International Space Station late Wednesday. The Automated Transfer Vehicle (ATV) 3, also known as Edoardo Amaldi, docked with the aft port of the Zvezda service module on schedule at 6:31 pm EDT (2231 GMT) Wednesday. The spacecraft docked without incident after a flawless launch last week from French Guiana. The spacecraft carries about 6.6 metric tons of propellant, supplies, and other cargo for the station. ATV-3 will remain docked to the ISS for five months, helping reboost the station.
