Boeing announces smallsat product line

Boeing Phantom Phoenix smallsat illustration (Boeing) Boeing unveiled Monday a new line of small satellites, some as small as 4 kilograms, designed for civil and military customers. The Phantom Phoenix spacecraft will come in three types: one weighing 500 to 100 kilograms, an "ESPA" version weighing 180 kilograms and designed to be integrated with the ESPA secondary payload launch adapter, and a "Nano" version weighing 4 to 10 kilograms. Boeing announced no initial customers for these spacecraft, but said they could serve missions ranging from reconnaissance to planetary science to meteorology.
