Weather delays Ariane launch
Posted: Fri, Dec 5, 2014, 5:58 AM ET (1058 GMT)
Poor weather delayed Thursday's launch of two communications satellites on an Ariane 5 by at least a day. Arianespace said that unfavorable weather conditions over the launch pad at Kourou, French Guiana, forced controllers to postpone the launch to at least Friday. The Ariane 5 is carrying the DIRECTV-14 and GSAT-16 communications satellites for direct-to-home broadcaster DIRECTV and Indian space agency ISRO, respectively.
