Trump signs policy directing NASA to send humans to the Moon

Trump signing Space Policy Directive 1 (NASA) President Trump signed a policy directive Monday to send humans back to the Moon, but offered no additional details about that plan. In a brief White House ceremony, Trump signed Space Policy Directive 1, which directs NASA to return humans to the Moon as a step towards later missions to Mars. The directive provides no deadline for landing people on the Moon, and no guidance on budgets. The policy, though, does include opportunities for international and commercial partnerships. Even with that lack of details, the policy received broad support by members of Congress and space industry executives as providing a new direction for the nation's human spaceflight program.
