Canadian space strategy emphasizes key technologies
Posted: Sat, Mar 9, 2019, 9:03 AM ET (1403 GMT) Participation in the lunar Gateway is the centerpiece of Canada's new national space strategy. That strategy, released this week, emphasizes plans announced last week by the Canadian government to provide a robotic arm for the Gateway, spending $1.4 billion over 24 years on the program. The strategy emphasized several other areas for the Canadian space program, including artificial intelligence, deep-space robotic systems and Earth observation capabilities. The strategy also calls for a review of Canadian space regulation to identify areas of reform.
