Posted: Sun, Jul 7, 2019, 10:19 AM ET (1419 GMT)
Space Norway satellites (Northrop Grumman) Northrop Grumman and SpaceX have won contracts to build and launch two communications satellites for Space Norway that will carry payloads for three customers. Space Norway announced Wednesday it selected Northrop Grumman to build the two satellites, which will be launched on a single Falcon 9 in late 2022. The satellites form the core of the Arctic Satellite Broadband Mission, a two-satellite system designed to operate in highly elliptical orbits so they can enable broadband connectivity at latitudes beyond where geostationary satellites can reach. The satellites will carry payloads for Inmarsat, the Norwegian Ministry of Defense and the US Air Force.
