China launches reconnaissance satellites

China launched a new group of naval reconnaissance satellites Friday night. A Long March 4C rocket launched from the Jiuquan Satellite Launch Center at 9:20 pm EST (0220 GMT Saturday) and placed fourth group of Yaogan-31 satellites into orbit. The satellites, launched in sets of three, are believed to be used to track naval vessels.
