Posted: Sat, Apr 3, 2021, 10:53 AM ET (1453 GMT)
The first "all-civilian" human spaceflight mission, Inspiration4, has finalized its crew. Inspiration4 unveiled the four-person crew Tuesday, which includes the winners of both a sweepstakes that raised money for St. Jude Children's Research Hospital and a separate contest affiliated with Shift4 Payments, the e-commerce company founded by the mission's sponsor, Jared Isaacman. Inspiraiton4 will launch no earlier than Sept. 15 on a Crew Dragon spacecraft, spending three days in orbit at an altitude of 540 kilometers. The spacecraft will be outfitted with a cupola to provide an additional window for the crew in place of the docking adapter used for missions to the International Space Station.
