Falcon 9 launch of Starlink satellites, May 9 2021 (SpaceX) SpaceX set a booster reuse record with the launch of another group of Starlink satellites Sunday. The Falcon 9 lifted off from Cape Canaveral, Florida, at 2:42 am EDT (0642 GMT) and deployed its payload of 60 Starlink satellites into orbit a little more than an hour later. The rocket's first stage landed on a droneship, completing its tenth flight, a record for that vehicle. SpaceX originally set a goal of flying a Falcon 9 first stage 10 times, but in recent months company executives have suggested that the stages can fly more missions.
