Soyuz launches Progress cargo spacecraft to ISS

Soyuz launch of Progress MS-17 (Roscosmos) A Progress cargo spacecraft is on its way to the International Space Station after a launch Tuesday evening. A Soyuz-2.1a rocket lifted off from the Baikonur Cosmodrome at 7:27 pm EDT (2327 GMT) and placed the Progress MS-17 spacecraft into orbit. The Progress will dock with the station Thursday at about 9 pm EDT (0100 GMT Friday). The spacecraft is carrying more than 2,400 kilograms of propellant, supplies and other cargo for the station.
