NASA targets mid-March for SLS rollout

SLS in the VAB (NASA/KSC) NASA said Thursday it expects to roll out the Space Launch System for a practice countdown in mid-March. Agency officials said Thursday that the rollout of the SLS from the Vehicle Assembly Building to Launch Complex 39B is scheduled for the evening of March 17 and will take about 12 hours. The vehicle will stay on the pad for about a month to perform a fueling test and practice countdown called a wet dress rehearsal, then go back to the VAB for final preparations for the Artemis 1 launch. That launch is scheduled for no earlier than the "tail end" of a May launch window that closes May 21, with additional launch windows June 6-16 and June 29-July 12.
