SpaceX launches private astronauts to the ISS

A group of private astronauts is on the International Space Station after a launch on April 8. A SpaceX Falcon 9 lifted off from the Kennedy Space Center at 11:17 am EDT (1517 GMT) April 8 and placed the Crew Dragon spacecraft Endeavour into orbit. The spacecraft, flying the Ax-1 mission for Axiom Space, docked with the ISS at 8:29 am EDT (1229 GMT) April 9. The spacecraft delivered to the station former NASA astronaut Michael López-Alegría, commander of Ax-1, and three Axiom customers: Larry Connor, Eytan Stibbe and Mark Pathy. The four will carry out experiments and commercial activities through the end of the week before returning home.
