The satellites are part of a network to enhance the accuracy of the Beidou satellite navigation system. Meanwhile, A Long March 2D lifted off from the Jiuquan Satellite Launch Center at 7:43 pm EDT (2343 GMT) Oct. 9 and placed the Advanced Space-based Solar Observatory (ASO-S) into a sun-synchronous orbit.
