Falcon 9 launch of OneWeb-17 (SpaceX) SpaceX launched a set of OneWeb satellites Thursday. A Falcon 9 lifted off from Cape Canaveral at 2:13 pm EST (1913 GMT) and deployed 40 OneWeb satellites into low Earth orbit. The launch was the third and final Falcon 9 mission for OneWeb under a contract announced a year ago after OneWeb canceled a Soyuz launch contract. A final batch of 36 satellites will launch on an Indian GSLV rocket in late March, although SpaceX will launch some spare OneWeb satellites on a rideshare mission this summer.
