Posted: Sat, Apr 22, 2023, 11:07 AM ET (1507 GMT)
Maxar won an order for a GEO communication satellite from Dish Network. The ES XXV satellite is expected to be ready for launch in the next few years, although Dish did not disclose a specific launch date or provider. The satellite will be based on the Maxar 1300 series platform, the largest in the manufacturer's product line with a mass of up to 6,800 kilograms, and will provide direct-to-home television services. ES XXV is also the first GEO contract Maxar has announced this year in a market that has declined amid the rise of LEO constellations.
