Russia launches reconnaissance satellite

Russia launched a military reconnaissance satellite May 26. A Soyuz-2.1a rocket launched from the Vostochny Cosmodrome in Russia's Far East at 5:14 pm EDT (2114 GMT) and put the Kondor-FKA 1 satellite into a sun-synchronous orbit. The satellite carries a synthetic aperture radar imaging payload.
