SpaceX launches Starlinks form Florida, delays California launch
Posted: Sat, Aug 19, 2023, 11:47 AM ET (1547 GMT)
SpaceX performed one of two launches it planned to carry out overnight. A Falcon 9 lifted off from Cape Canaveral, Florida, at 11:36 pm EDT Wednesday (0336 GMT Thursday) after waiting out stormy weather in the area. The rocket placed 22 Starlink V2 mini satellites into orbit on the Group 6-10 mission. A second launch planned from Vandenberg Space Force Base in California was postponed, though, for undisclosed reasons, and later pushed back to next week because of Hurricane Hilary.
