NASA delays next two shuttle launches
Posted: Fri, Sep 5, 2008, 7:22 PM ET (2322 GMT)
NASA has pushed back the launch dates for the next two shuttle missions by two days each, the space agency announced Friday. The launch of Atlantis on STS-125, the Hubble Space Telescope repair mission, has been moved from October 8 to October 10, while the launch of Endeavour on STS-126, an International Space Station assembly mission, has been delayed from November 10 to November 12. NASA said in a statement that shuttle managers changed the launch dates after assessing the impacts of recent tropical weather, including tropical storm Hanna, which delayed the rollout of Atlantis by two days.
