Countdown underway for shuttle launch

STS-129: logo (NASA) Countdown clocks started Friday for Monday afternoon's launch of the space shuttle Atlantis on a mission to the International Space Station. Atlantis is scheduled to launch at 2:28 pm EST (1928 GMT) Monday on mission STS-129, with no technical issues reported and forecasts calling for excellent weather at launch time. STS-129 will deliver spare parts and other supplies to the ISS and also bring back ISS crewmember Nicole Stott. Three spacewalks are scheduled during the 11-day mission.
