Water break delays shuttle rollover
Posted: Thu, Sep 9, 2010, 5:38 AM ET (0938 GMT)
Wednesday's scheduled rollover of the space shuttle Discovery to the Vehicle Assembly Building was postponed because of a water break that closed the Kennedy Space Center for much of the day. A 24-inch (60-centimeter) water main at the space center ruptured late Tuesday night, causing water pressures in space center facilities to drop. Center officials decided to close KSC and the adjacent visitor's center, and postponed the rollover of the shuttle to the VAB to Thursday morning. Water pressure was restored at the center by late Wednesday. Discovery is being prepared for an early November launch to the space station on its last currently-scheduled mission.
